What We Do
There are two main ways we express our vision: Mission-Shaped Communities and Gatherings.
Flexible and simple groups with a high degree of autonomy so that they can be responsive to whatever they believe God wants.
MSCs take the good news of Jesus to those they meet in ways that reflect the particular vision of each community. They are voluntarily led by members of Kairos and are accountable to the church leadership.
MSCs meet throughout the week in homes, cafés, community centres and all sorts of places around Harrogate. To find out a bit more about one of these communities please get in touch or have a look at the stories on the Life page.
We meet together regularly to worship, pray, encounter God and learn from Him. These times together are important to us for encouragement and challenge. We currently gather at the following times:
Whole Church Gathering. 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month: 10.30am
We meet to worship, hear teaching and time to respond to God together.
Children and young people have their own groups. These informal gatherings start with refreshments available from 10:15am.
9am Communion, Every Sunday: A reflective service of Communion following the Church of England Common Worship liturgy. This is an important regular meeting point for prayer, worship and bible teaching based on the lectionary reading for the day. In many ways the 9am Communion forms a bedrock to much of the other activity that takes place at Kairos. You are always welcome to join us!
The UP, 4th Sunday of the Month: 7pm.
We are called to live a 3 dimensional life – Upwards in love towards God, Inwards in love towards each other, Outward in love towards the world.
This is an opportunity to give attention to the Up dimension in an extended time of worship and prayer including teaching.
Daily Prayers , 9am Monday to Thursday
The Kairos Resource base team meet every day to worship, read the bible and pray together.
On Mon, Tue and Thursday this is for half an hour.
On Wednesdays we pray for an hour.
If you are able to join us at these times you would be very welcome.
