What We Do
There are two main ways we express our vision: Kairos Communities and Gatherings.
KAIROS COMMUNITIES
Flexible and simple groups with a high degree of autonomy so that they can be responsive to whatever they feel God is saying.
Communities take the good news of Jesus to those they meet in ways that reflect the particular vision of each community. They are voluntarily led by members of Kairos and are accountable to the church leadership.
Communities meet throughout the week in homes, cafés, community centres and all sorts of places around Harrogate and beyond. You can find out a bit more about one of these communities here or get in touch using the Connect page.
GATHERINGS
We meet together regularly to worship, pray, encounter God and learn from Him. These times together are important to us for encouragement and challenge. We currently gather at the following times:
9am Communion, every Sunday in the Kairos room at Westcliffe Hall
A reflective service of Communion following the Church of England Common Worship liturgy. This is an important regular meeting point for prayer, worship and bible teaching based on the lectionary reading for the day. In many ways the 9am Communion forms a bedrock for much of the other activity that takes place at Kairos.
Central Gathering, 1st, & 3rd Sunday of the month, 11am in Westcliffe Hall
Informal gatherings with worship, teaching and time to respond to God together plus plenty of coffee and biscuits served from 10.45am. Primary-aged children have their own groups on both Sundays; Blaze youth have their own group on a 3rd Sunday and get involved in serving at gatherings in various indispensable ways!
Daily Prayers, 9.30am Monday to Thursday
We meet to worship, read the bible and pray together for 20-30 minutes in the Kairos Room at Westcliffe Hall on Mondays and Wednesdays, and on Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
We also have lots of other things going on throughout the week for Children and Families, young people and more! You are very welcome to join us at any of these gatherings or at a community event.
