Jesus says, ‘I am the light of the world’

On Sunday 4th October, we explored Jesus’ third ‘I am’ statement, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ (John 8:12) We are also called to be the light of the world (Matthew 5:14). What does it mean to follow Jesus and be the light of the world as he is the light of the world? You can listen here or using the player below.

The first part of Helen’s talk was missed off the recording. She began by describing her love of the Narnia stories and fear of the wolves, jackals and other creatures in the story. Did they really live downstairs in her house in the hours of darkness?? Her 6-year-old self feared they might, but switching on the bedside light was transformative, taking the fear away.

Helen referenced some resources from 24-7 prayer in her talk. You can find those here.
