Wait for the Lord; be strong, take heart

“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”  Ps 27.14
“Faith does not operate in the realm of the possible. There is no glory for God in that which is humanly possible. Faith begins where man’s power ends.” George Mueller

One of the things I found realy helpful about listening to Carl’s sermon on sunday was to hear someone else describe the process of discerning and following a vision from God.  Carl was speaking about Waiting on God.  If you didn’t manage to make it can I encourage you to listen to the sermon.  Here are a couple of thoughts about what Carl shared.

What is your Holy Frustration?

Carl used this phrase to describe the sense he and Georgie had as they looked at homelessness in Harrogate.  So often God speaks through our frustrations.  What frustrations and passions do people in your MSC have?

Where do you have to rely on God?

Carl talked about the sense of relying on God completely and of having to face struggles and difficulties as they worked towards their vision for Lifeline.  Is the vision for your MSC too acheivable?  Do you need to allow God to widen your sight and lead you to go after something that can only be possible with him.  Lets not settle,  God wants to do more!

How do you keep going?

Carl mentioned some of the disciplines that keep him going during times of trial and testing;  prayer,  memorizing psalms, putting on the armour of God.  What keeps you going as a community?  How are you investing in your upward and inward relationships.

There was much more shared that was really useful for us as MSC leaders,  so do listen to the talk.

Have a great week,  Ben.
